RE:                 Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct Compliance Issues

 DATE:            November 10,  2011

 Dear Bar Members:

Attorney Randil J. Rudloff recently attended a seminar in Columbus for Bar Counsels.  The most common
ethical violations were discussed and I have been asked to pass along the information to you.

The most common ethical violations involve “trust accounts” and “failure to maintain malpractice
insurance/failure to notify client of no malpractice insurance” violations.

The Trumbull County Bar Association Certified Grievance Committee has been advised that on all new
grievances filed investigators will investigate whether or not there are any trust account violations
or failure to maintain malpractice insurance/notify client of same whether or not it has been alleged by
the grievant or not.

Please be advised that you should ensure that any client funds not earned are placed in your trust
account and that if you do not maintain malpractice insurance pursuant to the Ohio Rules of
Professional Conduct, you must notify clients of same again in accordance with the rules as set
forth in the Rules of Professional Conduct.

If there are any questions regarding these two issues, you may contact Attorney J. P. Morgan, Grievance
Committee Chairman, at 330-395-6444, or Attorney Randil Rudloff, Bar Counsel, at 330-393-1584.
